Illogical World

(John McGie/Jon Lundquist)

ILLOGICAL WORLD

The sanctity of insanity
A wide-eyed blind man
Said I see
Never a borrower or a lender be
Money don’t make cash

All the puritans
Have interbred
The resurrected
Are left for dead
The sacrament
Is stale bread
Morality is taxed

I believe in an illogical world
It all makes sense to me
I believe in an illogical world
Reason and logic won’t set me free

The pinnacle
Of propriety
Is low
In high society
They’ve killed off all
The birds and bees
‘Cause it’s considered crass

The flexible heroes
Like to stretch
The latest clean up
Left such a mess
They’ve done their worst
It’s all for the best
They think it’s going to last

I’m not lost but I was found
Reason makes the would go round
They calculate how thankful I am
There’s plastic in the Pearly Gates
The time is now
But we’ll have to wait
For all the good it doesn’t seem that bad
